13 Folds is a new company with a family history.

The company has its roots with Sunset Professional Lawn Maintenance, a family-owned operation dating back to the 1980s. Sunset was started by Jerome White as a way to supplement his income as a paramedic in DeKalb County Georgia. Jerome felt it important to have a secondary income while teaching his two sons a trade that they could utilize later in life. Sunset operated a successful, single rig operation for almost 30 years. Inspired by his father, Jamar, attended Mercer University, where he attained his business degree. After 14 years of active duty with the US Army, as a Field Artillery officer, Jamar returned home. Being inspired by both his father, a US Air Force veteran and his extended military family, Jamar decided to start a business that blended his love of the outdoors and his duty to serve.

13 Folds is Jamar's attempt to provide a much-needed service to the community and specifically Gold Star Families. Jamar believes that it is his duty to provide service to the families that have given the ultimate sacrifice to keep America Free. The ultimate goal of 13 Folds is to provide lawn care service, free of charge to gold star families and families of deployed or wounded service men and women. The name 13 Folds is in reference to the folded national colors that are presented to the families of fallen service members.

Quality, precision, and attention to detail are all attributes that serving in the Armed Forces teaches veterans. We learn that the mission and people always come first. At 13 Folds, our clients are both the mission and the people.
